During Daily 5 students started to write about one of the pictures below; a dinosaur, a panda bear, a cat, and a giant trying to squeeze into an elevator (or the elevator is really tiny). Students were encouraged to write about the setting, characters, problem, three attempts to solve the problem, and a conclusion.
This afternoon the students were all able to get onto Mathletics for math class. We also attended an assembly of an author/illustrator who wrote the book
The Adventures of Rabbit and Bear Paws. Please see below for pictures.
During inquiry students, worked in groups communicating and collaborating, 20 different cards determining if the item should be placed into the need, right, or want column. Please see below for some pictures.
HOMEWORK:
1) Students are required to add 4 additional needs/rights, that they believe they will need, in order to survive on Mars.
2) At least 15 minutes of Mathletics.
